Sons And Daughters Of Liberia awarded academic scholarships to twenty (20) participants and representatives of the First Annual Young Adult Conference. Below are the names of the recipients that were announced at the fundraiser dinner on Sunday, December 17, 2006.

Scholarship Recipients
**SADOL has contacted the recipients’ educational institutions to verify that each recipient is enrolled for the 2007 academic year and that they are in good academic standing. SADOL has disburse a check for $200.00 to each recipient to be use toward educational expenses. Educational expenses include school fees (tuition), transportation to and from school, uniform, books, school supplies and lunch. Awardees who do not meet the requirements will lose their scholarship to other qualifying candidates.

SADOL’s academic scholarship goal is to obtain a scholarship for each of the 300+ participants and representatives of the conference by the disbursement date of August 01, 2007.
In addition to the twenty (20) SADOL Academic Scholarships that were awarded, Education Minister Joseph Korto pledged twenty (20) scholarships, Youth and Sports Minister Jamesetta Howard Wolokolie pledged five (5) scholarships, Her Excellency Madame Ellen Johnson Sirleaf contributed $500.00 (five hundred dollars) towards the scholarship fund and Mr. Joseph Roberts Mensah of UNMIL Radio Pledge two (2) scholarships. These pledges and cash contributions enabled SADOL to award thirty (30) scholarships to participants and representatives of the First Annual Young Adult Conference.
